The Lab Program
We have recently launched a new initiative called The LAB College Program (Life and Abundance in Balance), specifically designed for students pursuing careers in healthcare. This program is a paid work-study opportunity that offers students hands-on experience in the field of home care while they continue their academic studies.
Program Overview
The LAB College Program aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application by providing students with the opportunity to work directly with clients in a home care setting. This experience not only enhances their clinical and caregiving skills but also helps them build strong relationships with the elderly and disabled communities they serve.
Benefits for STUDENTS
Practical Experience
Students gain valuable hands-on experience in patient care, which is crucial for their future careers in healthcare.
Paid Work-Study
Participants are compensated for their time, easing the financial burden of college tuition and living expenses.
Academic Credit
We are open to discussing how this program could be integrated with UNC’s academic curriculum to offer students course credit for their participation.
Professional Development
Students will have the opportunity to develop essential soft skills such as communication, empathy, and time management, which are vital in the healthcare field.
